 Q. A certain reaction is at equilibrium at 820C and the
enthalpy change for this reaction is 21.3kJ. calculate the
value of entropy change for the reaction.

Ans.

Q. An ultrasonic wave of frequency 45000Hz

sent out by sonar shows a frequency rise of 600 Hz on reflection from an approaching submarine. If the velocity of sound in water is 1500m/s.Calculate the speed of the submarine.

Answer.

Let the frquency of ultrasonic waves is 4500 Hz=f1

Given,a frequency rise of 600Hz on reflection from an approaching submarine.

f2=600Hz

the velocity of sound in water is 1500m/s

Because

velocity=wavelength*frequency

v1=wavelength1*frequency1

wavelength1 =1500/45000

                 =1/30m

Similarily,

velocity2=wavelength2*frequency2

               =1/30*600

             =20m/s
